Architectural Visualization in Maryland starts with Interface Multimedia. For over thirty years we have called suburban Washington our home. Our work embraces the intersection of architecture, technology, and narrative. Through 3D animation, 4D construction animation and VR experiences we help organizations of all sizes compete and win with expert strategy, powerful design, and award-winning virtual reality experiences.

The studio is recognized for its expertise in architectural visualization, digital branding, film production, and immersive media. Its roots in architecture, planning, real estate, and construction allow IFMM to translate complex design aspirations into compelling visual experiences that resonate with both industry insiders and public audiences.

Architectural Visualization & Brand Storytelling

IFMM has been described as “a top architectural visualization company” that delivers everything from high-fidelity illustrations and animations to real-time 3D environments and virtual‑reality experiences. These tools serve multiple purposes: they help designers and developers experiment with design options, assist clients in gaining municipal or investor approval during early schematic phases, and, as the project advances, fuel marketing campaigns with photorealistic renderings optimized for both big-screen presentations and mobile devices.

North Bethesda Metro Site Proposal: McGrath

The Transformation of White Flint / North Bethesda

Recently our work has included the illustrations and retail concepts for the winning RFP submittal by Hines for the North Bethesda Metro site. A complex mixed-use concept to include life-science research and housing adjacent to the North Bethesda Metro Station. This corner of Montgomery County, MD is evolving quickly and we have been fortunate to help illustrate many steps in the process. Our work in this area began with a zoning presentation film for the White Flint Partnership that successfully lobbied to increase the zoning in the area. More recently we have worked extensively at Pike & Rose during Federal's entitlement and lease up process and in 2024 completed a film for a new senior living facility across the street for The Pinnacle: North Bethesda by Silverstone.

Notable Maryland Projects

Maryland is home to many landmarks and in our 30+ years of business we have rendered many of them. Across Maryland, from Rockville, to Hyattsville, to Baltimore, Interface Multimedia has created illustrations, marketing films, project brands, and building websites for a range of institutional, residential and commercial projects.

Our other notable Maryland work includes residential senior living marketing films for Silverstone's The Seneca Rockville, or concept studies and public space illustrations for Five Squares' development Strathmore Square and a series of illustrations for the University of Maryland at College Park to understand the impact of the Purple Line running through the center of campus.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of architectural visualization does Interface Multimedia produce?

expand_more

We produce the full range — from static 3D renderings and floor plans through architectural animation, 4D construction sequences, 360 VR tours, real-time VR environments, and CGI visual effects. Our visualization team includes trained architects and 3D artists who understand building systems, materials, and spatial design, which means the work is technically accurate as well as visually compelling. We have produced visualization for projects ranging from the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian to large-scale military housing programs and mixed-use developments across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.

What is 4D construction animation and when is it used?

expand_more

4D construction animation adds the dimension of time to a 3D model, showing how a building is assembled phase by phase. It is used to communicate construction sequencing to stakeholders, investors, community boards, and project teams. We pioneered this technique for projects like the National Museum of African American History and Culture, where the animation helped the Smithsonian communicate the complexity of the build to multiple audiences. It is particularly valuable for large infrastructure, institutional, and mixed-use projects where construction phasing affects surrounding communities.

Do you produce film and video content in addition to renderings?

expand_more

Yes. Our film and production capabilities include scriptwriting, storyboarding, talent search, on-camera interviews, video editing, and CGI visual effects. We produce project films, brand videos, documentary-style content, and marketing reels. Because our film team works alongside visualization and brand, the video content is integrated with your broader marketing system rather than produced as a standalone piece. We have a full production pipeline from concept through post-production.

Can visualization be used before a project is approved or funded?

expand_more

Absolutely — that is often when it has the most impact. Renderings and animations help secure approvals, attract investment, and align stakeholders around a shared vision when the project exists only on paper. Our rendering of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center helped secure a $60 million donation. Visualization gives decision-makers something tangible to evaluate and gets projects funded and approved faster.

What is the difference between your VR and rendering services?

expand_more

Renderings are static or animated images produced from 3D models — they communicate a designed perspective of the project. VR experiences — including 360 tours, real-time VR, and immersive walkthroughs — allow the viewer to move through the space interactively. We offer both because they serve different purposes: renderings are ideal for marketing materials, websites, and presentations, while VR is used for sales centers, investor presentations, and stakeholder engagement where the audience needs to experience the space themselves.
