A Website Rebuilt for a Growing Reston Town Center
BXP and Interface rebuilt Reston Town Center's website this year, designed to carry leasing, events, and a county expansion still taking shape.
BXP and Interface rebuilt the Reston Town Center website this year, replacing the site visitors had used for years with one built to run under BXP's WebCare program. The project, opened February 11, carries a 121-item photo gallery and a recurring-events calendar that generates its own future dates rather than requiring someone to re-enter the same concert series week after week.
A town center's website carries more than most sites attempt: a prospective tenant checking available retail space, a visitor finding what's playing at the fountain this weekend, someone who needs a parking answer in one click. Reston Town Center's site now carries all three, for a property that is still growing.
The growth is substantial. On September 16, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors gave final approval to Reston Town Center North, a 47.9-acre expansion a few blocks away: 1.6 million square feet, a new library, a new park, with site preparation targeted for late 2026. The rebuilt site now carries a town center on the verge of considerably more scale.
"We needed a better way to manage the hundreds of events and places at Reston Town Center with an easy to use calendar and integration with our other internal systems. Interface built this tool and custom designed the look for our Reston brand," said Alexandra F. Young, Vice President, Regional Marketing at BXP.
The calendar is the clearest measure of the work. Reston Town Center runs recurring programming nearly every week: concerts, markets, seasonal events. BXP's team once entered each date by hand. The system Interface built generates the recurring instances on its own.
