Biography

Mark Burlinson operates between idea and understanding—closing the gap between what a project is and how it is perceived. As co-founder and principal of Interface Multimedia, Mark has spent more than three decades shaping how complex real estate, infrastructure, and institutional projects are communicated to the people who fund them, build them, and use them. His work is grounded in a simple premise: when a project is understood, it gains traction, builds trust, and drives it forward.

Trained as an architect, Mark holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland and began his career as a Senior Project Architect at Cooper Carry. He moved early into 3D modeling and animation to make unbuilt ideas visible, then expanded that work into visualization, film, and digital platforms.

Beginning in 2001, with a custom software engagement, he co-created and led an intelligent digital asset and knowledge management platform that Interface developed, operated, and licensed—applying the same instinct to architecture's next problem: building the operational backbone for how organizations manage, access, and deploy content across teams, projects, and markets. The platform was deployed at federal agencies, cultural institutions, leading AEC firms, and global commercial enterprises—including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, HDR, Federal-Mogul, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Clark Builders Group, Gannett Fleming, Bandai, and IDEO—managing millions of assets across distributed offices and public-facing channels.

Mark's hand shapes that approach across Interface's broader work, including high-profile, large-scale projects: Led agency-of-record efforts for Capital One Center, defining the naming and brand architecture for both Capital One Hall and The Perch while creating a unified identity across a 5M+ SF mixed-use campus. Directed signage design, retail visualization, film, and web development to translate a complex development into a clear, high-performing brand and digital experience. Architected the unified brand and digital ecosystem for Legence, aligning multiple business units under a scalable platform while preserving their individual market positions. Built a component-based Webflow system with integrated analytics and AI-driven optimization to coordinate content, governance, and growth across the organization. Developed the digital and experiential platform for Monday Properties, structuring its portfolio and brand narrative across a scalable corporate website and immersive leasing tools. Created an integrated ecosystem combining content strategy, Webflow development, and interactive visualization to enhance asset positioning and tenant engagement.

Mark's superpower is organizing complexity—aligning design intent, business objectives, and audience perception into systems that can scale across entire portfolios. That work now extends into data and AI-driven frameworks for Interface clients, where marketing functions as a responsive system—continuously adapting to performance, behavior, and context rather than remaining fixed at launch.
