Immersive Renderings

Featured in the header is an illustration from Seaboard Station, a mixed use multi-parcel entertainment district in Raleigh, NC. Our studio delivered nearly a dozen architectural renderings for 4 parcels, multiple retail storefront studies, and a project film. Our work play many diverse roles in the life of a ground up town center development like Seaboard Station. Our work was used to illustration the vision to the City of Raleigh during the entitlement process, was used to communicate with lenders, was key to the work of retail brokers during the early lease up period of the project prior to construction, and finally was used to help market the high street to potential apartment tenants as opening day neared.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an architectural rendering take?

expand_more

Typical turnaround is 1–3 weeks depending on the scope and complexity of the project — simple exterior stills are faster; full animations and complex scenes take longer. We give you a firm schedule at kickoff.

What types of architectural rendering does IFMM produce?

expand_more

We produce exterior hero shots, interior vignettes, aerial perspectives, streetscape contexts, and dusk/twilight compositions. Each rendering is built from coordinated BIM or design files and calibrated to the specific audience — whether that's an investment committee, a zoning board, or a leasing team.

What are architectural rendering services?

expand_more

Architectural rendering services transform architectural plans, blueprints, and concepts into photorealistic visualizations. These include 3D renderings, animations, and interactive experiences that help stakeholders understand a project before it's built. Interface Multimedia delivers renderings across the full development lifecycle — from conceptual design through construction marketing and leasing.

What's the difference between a 3D rendering and an architectural animation?

expand_more

A rendering is a single photorealistic still image of your project. An animation is motion through the space — flythroughs and walkthroughs — ideal for marketing, approvals, and stakeholder presentations.

How have your renderings been used to secure project funding?

expand_more

Our rendering of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum renovation helped the institution secure a $60 million donation. We regularly produce visualization packages for capital campaigns, investor presentations, and public-private partnership proposals where the image carries real financial weight.

How much do architectural renderings cost?

expand_more

Pricing depends on the complexity of the project, number of views, level of detail, and timeline. A single exterior rendering typically ranges from $2,000–$8,000, while a full rendering package for a mixed-use development can range from $15,000–$50,000+. Contact us for a custom proposal based on your specific requirements.

Do you produce renderings for commercial and mixed-use developments?

expand_more

Yes. Our work centers on real estate, commercial, and large mixed-use developments — exterior and interior, ground-level and aerial.

What file formats and resolutions do you deliver?

expand_more

We deliver print-resolution files (300 DPI+) for publications and signage, along with web-optimized versions for marketing sites and social media. Output formats include TIFF, PNG, JPEG, and layered PSD files when clients need to adapt compositions for different uses.

How long does it take to produce architectural renderings?

expand_more

A typical exterior rendering takes 2–3 weeks from model receipt to final delivery. Interior renderings generally take 1–2 weeks each. Complex projects with multiple views, animations, or VR components can take 4–8 weeks. We work within your project schedule and can accommodate expedited timelines when needed.

What do you need from us to get started?

expand_more

Architectural plans or CAD files, material and finish references, site context, and the deliverable's purpose (approval, leasing, sales, or investment). The more detail, the more accurate the result.

How long does a typical architectural rendering take to produce?

expand_more

A single exterior hero rendering typically takes two to three weeks from model receipt to final delivery, including two rounds of revision. Timelines compress for clients who provide clean, coordinated models and consolidated feedback. We've maintained this pace across more than 2,000 projects since 1993.

What file formats do you deliver?

expand_more

We deliver high-resolution images in JPEG, PNG, and TIFF formats suitable for print, web, and presentation use. Animations are delivered in MP4 and MOV formats. Interactive experiences are delivered as web-based applications. We can accommodate specific format requirements based on your marketing, entitlement, or construction documentation needs.

Can the renderings be used for marketing and leasing, not just approvals?

expand_more

Absolutely — they're built for leasing brochures, websites, investor decks, and campaigns, not just entitlement and approvals.

Do you work with projects outside the DC area?

expand_more

Yes. While our studio is based in the DC/MD/VA region and much of our work is local — the Kennedy Center, Capital One headquarters, Smithsonian campuses — we serve clients nationwide. Remote collaboration is straightforward since our process is built around digital model exchange and structured review cycles.

What types of projects do you render?

expand_more

We render commercial office buildings, mixed-use developments, residential communities, senior living facilities, retail environments, hospitality projects, institutional buildings, and infrastructure. Our portfolio includes projects for Capital One, Legence, the Smithsonian, and over 2,000 other developments across the United States.

Do you work with architects and developers directly?

expand_more

Yes. Interface Multimedia was founded by architects and has worked alongside developers, AEC firms, and construction teams for over 30 years. We understand the development process — from entitlement presentations to construction documentation to marketing materials — and tailor our rendering services to each phase.

What is the difference between 3D rendering and architectural visualization?

expand_more

3D rendering refers to the technical process of generating a 2D image from a 3D model. Architectural visualization is the broader practice of using renderings, animations, VR experiences, and interactive media to communicate architectural design. Interface Multimedia provides both — from single-image renderings to full visualization campaigns.

Do you offer 4D construction animation?

expand_more

Yes. 4D construction animation combines 3D building models with project schedules to show the construction sequence over time. This is used for stakeholder presentations, construction planning, and public communication. Our 4D work includes the National Museum of African American History and Culture for the Smithsonian.
