Hotel Merrydelle, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel

Hotel Merrydelle, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel

Rebuilding the Ambassador Hotel

As part of the extensive Pearl Square development in Jacksonville, FL the historic Ambassador Hotel will be renoved as the Hotel Merrydelle, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel.

The Merrydelle Hotel

The Merrydelle Hotel represents a defining moment within the evolution of Pearl Square—an ambitious, multi-phase district reshaping the urban core into a vibrant, mixed-use destination. As a reimagination of the historic Ambassador Hotel, the project blends preservation with contemporary hospitality, transforming a long-vacant landmark into a 109-key boutique experience within Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio.

IFMM’s work on the Merrydelle Hotel, designed by Campo Architecture & Interior Design, centers on translating this vision into a compelling visual and narrative experience—one that communicates both the building’s architectural legacy and its future role as a cultural anchor. Drawing on deep expertise in architectural visualization and storytelling, IFMM crafted high-impact imagery and media designed to align stakeholders, secure investment confidence, and position the hotel as a signature component of the district.

At the heart of the effort was the challenge of balancing authenticity and aspiration. The Merrydelle is not simply a renovation; it is a reinterpretation of place. IFMM’s visualizations emphasize the adaptive reuse strategy—highlighting restored historic elements alongside refined, contemporary interiors and activated public spaces. These assets were developed to convey the hotel’s experiential qualities, from curated guest environments to vibrant food and beverage offerings, including a destination restaurant designed to serve both visitors and the surrounding community.

Pearl Square

Equally important was situating the Merrydelle within the larger Pearl Square narrative. As part of a district-scale investment exceeding $750 million, the hotel plays a critical role in establishing identity, density, and year-round activity. IFMM’s work reinforces this connection by illustrating how the hotel integrates with adjacent developments—supporting a cohesive vision of walkability, activation, and urban revitalization.

Through a combination of cinematic storytelling, photorealistic renderings, and brand-driven content, IFMM helped articulate the Merrydelle’s role as both a destination and a catalyst. The resulting materials not only elevate the perception of the hotel itself but also strengthen the overall positioning of Pearl Square as a dynamic, design-forward environment rooted in history and driven by future growth.
